As society evolves, new forms of crime are emerging that posing challenges to law enforcement and society. Examples include AI phishing, deepfake extortion, neurocrime, water smuggling, biohacking, and robot sabotage.
CrimeLabUZH identifies patterns and proposes taxonomies and regulatory approaches for these emerging forms of crime.
Planned research projects
The first phase of the CrimeLab will feature various research projects on new forms of crime, including:
- Digital crime and victimization profiles for Artificial Intelligence generated fake information (Lead: Sascha Frühholz)
- Criminal Liability in the Age of AI: Shifting Responsibilities and Emerging Risks (Lead: Nadine Zurkinden)
