People become victims as a result of criminal offences (primary victimisation), criminal proceedings (secondary victimisation) and the victim’s internal processes (tertiary victimisation).
CrimeLabUZH analyses possible causes and consequences of victimisation and examines how the burdens of victimisation can be lessened.
Planned research projects
The first phase of the CrimeLab will feature various research projects on new forms of crime, including:
- Digital crime and victimization profiles for Artificial Intelligence generated fake information (Lead: Sascha Frühholz)
- Representative Victimization surveys in Switzerland (Lead: Dirk Baier)
